Acute Coronary Syndrome: Why My Own Treatment Approach Has Changed

A 74-year-old man with a history of atrial fibrillation (AF) presented acutely to an emergency department with new-onset chest pain. He was determined to be experiencing a myocardial infarction and underwent cardiac catheterization with placement of a stent in his right coronary artery. He is now being discharged home on the novel oral anticoagulant apixaban and atorvastatin.
