How Would You Treat This Older Patient's Pneumonia?

A 75-year-old man develops fever, chills, and a cough. His history is significant for coronary disease, hypertension, and a 4-cm aortic aneurysm. He has been successfully treated for prostate and colon cancer. He reports that he is allergic to amoxicillin, noting that he developed a rash when taking the drug about 20 years ago. His current medications are atorvastatin, amlodipine, lisinopril, and aspirin.
